Looks like I need to refrubish the transmission on my Oettinger and I have some questions regarding this transmission. I know that the code is FP and when comparing the FD and FP transmissionrates they are exactly the same except for the "Rapport de pont". Are the internal parts as the synchrorings and bearings all the same? Are these parts still available with VW?

For those of you who have ETKA, this is the partnumber of the part that I'm looking for in my transmission: 020 409 143 F. This is not the exact part since this part in the FP transmission has different amount of teeth. I do not have the partnumber for this part for the FP transmission. The number of teeth on the wheels in the FP are 75/18. Is it possible to get this part or something that can be used instead? This part is all worn out (together with a lot of other stuff I need to fix in the transmission ) so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Italian have 4.20 for 8V gboxes.

I have found a CWP for an FD transmission. All the gear ratios are the same on the FD and FP but the final ratio is 3.89 on the FD. How will that work with my Oettinger? Any links or phonenumbers to where I can contact someone regarding VW Motorsport parts? With a final ratio on 4.20, I guess the engine will be running on even higher rates in 5th gear right?

Yes for the 8V one do not buy the 16V. 800 $ means about 550 € plus port plus VAT plus local taxes (60€ in Belgium)

There is also this but to check the shaft diameter for the 4th gear (22 mm and not 24).

Thanks for the info. I will check with Bildon Motorsport and have them measure the diameter on the pinion on the 4th gear to check if it's the correct dimensions. I have another question for the BV on the Oettinger: In the repair manuall it says that "Les bagues de synchronisation pour 2eme et 3eme rapport" and "Corps de synchroniseur pour le 5eme rapport" is specific for the GTi 16S. What does this mean?
